Birthday Pictures

12 amazing months

12 amazing months ago we welcomed Bailey Lucille Mullins into this world and our lives.

Dear Bailey, you have brought so much happiness, joy, laughter and love to your daddy and me. We love every single moment with you, when you're awake and when you're asleep, when you're eating, and playing, and making all kids of messes throughout the house, when you chase Bo, or when we go for walks together, and even when you wake us up in the middle of the night to change your diaper. Daddy especially loves the time you two spend together when he gives you baths, you love to play in the water, and you can spend all night in the tub. You are our sunshine, and we love you to pieces!
Last Saturday we celebrated your 1st birthday with family and friends, many people came to wish you Happy Birthday and watch you eat your first cake. We all hoped for a big mess you'd make out of it, but you gently tried a couple of bites and were done without smashing the cake - you are such a girl!
Bay, you got SO many awesome gifts - clothes, toys, books, horse Clyde, and a big kitchen, where you'll start making us dinners soon. You enjoyed having all the attention from your guests, and even without a nap that day, you behaved yourself very well. It was a fun day, Bailey, and when you grow up we'll show you the video to prove it :)

Happy Fall & Happy 11 Months!

I remember going to Warsaw Women's Center for my 41-week check-up 11 months ago like it was yesterday. Dr. Freyre examined me, and recommended for me to be induced that same morning! I was so excited to meet Bailey soon, but little did I know about how our lives were going to change - for the best, of course :) Everyone who said "you cannot be 100% prepared to have a child" - you all were right! We are still "preparing" ourselves, our house, our dog, our lives, and etc to have Bailey.
She is still not walking by herself; crawls everywhere, and walks around the furniture while holding up. Recently we discovered our outlets for the central vacuum - and I've been trying to figure out how to hide and/or close them. If anyone has suggestions - I'm open to them...You see, they are a lot more "fun" then regular power outlet because our whole hand can fit inside...
New recent experience for us was Bailey's ear infection a few weeks ago. My poor little thing! She was so miserable, with high fevers reaching 102 mark, no appetite, and constantly wanted to be held in my arms. It was very difficult for both Jeremy and me to watch her and not being able to do anything to help. The plan for the rest of our lives was for Bailey not to EVER get sick again. But apparently we forgot to mention it to her because this morning she woke up with fever of 101.4 :( Our Dr. Jain said it's not ear infection this time, but a virus of some sort.
Current weight: 22 lb 10 oz
Naps: still twice a day (today we had 4)
Sleep: 7:30ish pm -7ish am
Food: still avoiding nuts, egg whites, and milk. Everything else is a go. One of our new favorites is watermelon (it is mine too).

Tooth #2!

Last week Bailey decided to surprise us with her second tooth! This time it's her bottom right, next to the 1st one, and it's just as sharp as the 1st one.
Apparently biting runs in families - like daddy, like Bailey. If the biting doesn't stop soon, then mommy is quitting breastfeeding!
In her 9 months of life Bay learned to do a lot, she already crawls, sits up on her own, gets up on things, walks (if she's holding on to you), even use a potty (that's if I catch her at the "right" time). We are very proud of all her accomplishments, and look forward to many new things she'll learn, but at the same time I already miss her being this little!

Our latest stats:
Height: 29 1/2 inches
Weight: 21 pounds
Sleep: 2 naps during the day and 7:30pm-7:00am at night
Food: pretty much everything except for fish and nuts (occasionally we catch her trying to have some of Bo's food as well)
Clothing: 12 months and up
Diapers: she could wear size 4, but since she's so tall we wear sz. 5.

9 months of awesome times

Big girl Bailey Boo turned 9 months on Thursday! We've been having so much fun with her. Today is better than yesterday, tomorrow will be better than today, and it continues to be true for every single day. I fall in love with her more and more everyday. It is such joy to my heart to watch her do, learn, and discover new things around her world. Her favorite toy is still Bo (our dog), and he is starting to play with her a little. At first he wouldn't even let her touch him, but now she'll crawl up to him and starts to play with his paws. But Bo has his limits - after a minute or two he'll get up and walk away.
Our eating schedule hasn't changed much, 5 times a day. She loves her fruit, and is a bit picky with veggies. Naps are finally getting on a schedule, she usually goes down around 9-10am, and then 1-3 after lunch. Now that we have more or less of a schedule it's much easier for me to work and schedule showings around her. Bay still comes to all of them with me, and is still selling houses left and right. This week alone we had two accepted offers, negotiating another one, and a closing. I try not to do too much, and actually spend quality time with Bailey - I know I'm never going to have this time again. Here are a few of our recent shots - I took them right before her morning nap, so she wasn't very cooperative :)
Can you see my tooth?

Long overdue updates...

Having fun on Tippy Lake

I thought that I would be better with updates on here, but obviously I'm not...Bailey Boo is 7.5 months old already, and here are her latest stats:
  • she eats about 4-5 times a day. She likes fruits MUCH better than veggies
  • so far we've covered the following: apples, pears, mangoes, peaches, strawberries, broccoli, potatoes, sweet potatoes, avocados, celery and carrots
  • no schedule for naps, unfortunately; I try to put her down twice a day,  but it really depends on how many showings we have that day
  • at night time she sleeps good 10-12 hours
  • the first tooth came on Father's day - it was daddy's present
  • she finally crawls! Now it takes her no time to get from one side of the room to another. Jeremy and I are starting to baby-proof the house
  • MAMA is our favorite word, of course :) up until yesterday everything & everyone was MAMA, now we also have DADA
  • favorite toy - Bo (our dog). To chase after Bo is absolutely one of the most favorite things to do
  • last weekend we were out on Tippy lake with friends and Bay got to swim in a lake for the first time
  • riding bike with daddy was also a new activity last week - I'll need to take pics next time
This bath tub was much bigger than the one we have at home

Overall, we are doing great! Bay and I are busy with selling real estate, as Jeremy says she's earning her keep :)

We said our goodbyes today...

It feels like only yesterday we went to Chicago to pick up my parents from O'Hare, but it was almost four months ago. Today they took off to go back home. Our time together flew by so quickly...on the way to the airport mom said we have to make sure to enjoy every moment we have with Bailey because the time will fly even faster now!
Mom and dad enjoyed their Winter stay with us. They got to experience a few of American traditions - Thanksgiving Dinner (cooked by Jeremy), Christmas celebration with family, Santa's presents, Super Bowl (we got to visit Indy during that week), President's Day, and small portion of March Madness. But more importantly,  they got to enjoy with us the first four months of Bailey's life.
My family has always been very close despite such huge distances between all of us - Russia, Spain, US, Canada. Our time together just reminded me of how much I miss being close to mom and dad, and how I wish my siblings were closer.
I miss mom and dad terribly already!

On another note, Bailey is doing GREAT, growing every day! She has officially said her first word, and I have witnesses. She called me "Mom" the other day, and it was such a sweet sound to my ears :)
At Bailey's four-month check up our doctor, Dr. Jain, said she's doing wonderful. She's growing like a champ! She was still off the charts for her height, and pretty close with her weight. She's right around 16 pounds now,  and 26 3/4 inches tall. She wears size 3 diapers; clothes vary from 6-9 months to 12-18 months outfits. Feeding schedule is every 3-3.5 hours during the day with sporadic naps, but at night we usually get about 9-11 hours of sleep.
Here are a few of Bailey's latest glamor shots:

Our Canadian Family

We had a great pleasure of hosting my brother and his adoptive parents - Doug and Prue - from Canada for a few days. Unfortunately this was a very short trip and we didn't get to spend much time together, especially because both Jeremy and I worked. Bailey enjoyed having many babysitters!
